[브레이크뉴스=박찬호 기자] 경상남도선거관리위원회는 2025년 3월 5일 실시하는 제1회 전국동시새마을금고이사장선거 입후보설명회를 오는 11일과 12일 개최한다고 밝혔다.

 

새마을금고이사장선거는 그동안 금고 자체적으로 선거를 관리하였으나, 2021년 새마을금고법 개정으로 이번 제1회 전국동시새마을금고이사장선거부터는 관할 구·시·군 선거관리위원회가 의무 위탁받아 도내 79개 금고의 이사장을 동시에 선출한다.

 

이번 입후보설명회는 입후보예정자의 접근 편의를 위해 창원[11일 새마을금고중앙회 울산경남지역본부 5층]과 진주[12일 진주동부새마을금고 2층]에서 각 권역별로 개최한다.

 

선관위 관계자는 (예비)후보자 등록절차, 선거운동 방법 및 제한·금지규정 등 새마을금고이사장선거 과정에서 꼭 알아야 할 내용을 중점적으로 안내할 예정이라며 입후보예정자 및 선거사무관계자 등의 많은 참석을 당부했다.

 

권역별 구분 등 설명회의 자세한 일정은 경남선관위 홈페이지(https://gn.nec.go.kr) 공지사항에서 확인할 수 있으며, 내년 1월에는 각 구‧시‧군 선거관리위원회에서도 입후보설명회를 개최할 예정이다.

 

한편, 새마을금고이사장선거의 예비후보자 등록신청은 2025년 1월 21일(선거기간개시일전 30일)부터 할 수 있으며, 본 후보자 등록신청은 2025년 2월 18일부터 19일까지 2일간(매일 오전 9시부터 오후 6시까지) 가능하다.
