[브레이크뉴스=이성용 기자] 창원시가 향후 방산 기업의 미래 신성장 동력 확보를 위한 대책 마련과 대·중·소 기업이 상생할 수 있는 실질적인 해결책을 모색하기 위한 토론의 장을 마련했다.

 

시는 5일 창원컨벤션센터에서 ‘K-방산 미래혁신 포럼’을 MBC경남과 공동개최했다.

 

이번 포럼은 최근 러시아-우크라이나 전쟁과 중동의 장기화된 위기를 계기로 지구촌 각국의 안보에 대한 관심이 날로 높아지고 우리나라의 무기체계 해외 수출이 급증하면서 방산 수출 전략방안 및 대·중·소 상생발전 모색을 위한 토론의 장을 마련했다.

 

이날 행사에는 홍남표 시장을 비롯한 손태화 시의회 의장, 이우환 MBC경남대표이사, 김명주 경상남도 경제부지사, 허욱구 대한민국 육군협회 사무총장, 정영식 범한그룹 회장, 김정환 경남테크노파크 원장, 이정환 창원산업진흥원장 등을 비롯한 각계 각층의 방산 관계자 250여명이 참석했다.

 

김만기 한국과학기술원 교수의 ‘미 국방조달시장 진출 전략제언’ 기조 강연이 이어졌으며 포럼 1부에는 △ 미래전쟁, 유무인 복합체계 대응과 수출전략을 주제로 2부에서는 △ K-방산 핵심 부품 국산화와 상생 전략을 주제로 각각 진행됐다.

 

또한, 주제발표 후에는 김호성 국립창원대 첨단방위공학대학원 교수와 이준곤 건국대 방위사업학과 겸임교수가 각각 1부와 2부의 좌장을 맡아 패널 및 참석자들과 함께 열띤 토론의 장을 펼쳤다.

특히 본행사 외에 별도로 마련된 전시공간에서는 창원시 방위산업의 기본현황 및 추진사업 소개뿐만 아니라 K-방산 발전의 숨은 조력 기업인 창원기술정공, 영풍전자, ㈜키프코우주항공 등 28개 방산 중소기업들의 주요 생산제품 등을 확인할 수 있어참석자들의 좋은 호응을 이끌었다.

 

이날 참석한 한 방산기업 관계자는 “최고의 기술력과 품질을 앞세운 K-방산이 세계로 뻗어가고 있는 만큼 글로벌 무기시장 트렌드를 반영한 기술혁신이 무엇보다 중요하다”며 앞으로도 “방산 중소기업들의 생산성 향상과 글로벌 네트워크 구축을 위한 교류의 장이 꾸준히 마련되길 바란다”고 말했다.

 

홍남표 시장은 “그 간 시가 우수한 인프라를 바탕으로 산·학·연·군 간의 협력체계 구축과 신기술 개발, 해외 판로개척, 기술혁신형 방산기업 육성과 지원에 매진해명실상부한 K-방산의 중심지로 자리 잡고 있다”며 “앞으로도 관내 방산기업들의 끊임없는 기술혁신을 통한 경쟁력 강화로 ‘K-방산 전성시대’를 지속적으로 견인할 수 있도록 최선을 다하겠다”고 밝혔다.

 

창원시는 올해 마무리되는 경남창원방산혁신클러스터 사업을 성공적으로 마무리하고 국제 흐름 및 정부 방산정책 기조에 걸맞는 맞춤형 사업을 지속적으로 확대해 나간다는 방침이다.
