▲ 경남도, 가덕도 신공항 건설 예정지 및 진해신항 항만배후단지 현장 점검

[브레이크뉴스=이성용 기자] 박완수 경남도지사는 9일 가덕도 신공항 건설 예정지와 진해신항 항만배후단지 등 경상남도 트라이포트 핵심 사업장을 방문해 추진 상황을 점검했다.

 

이번 현장 점검은 가덕도 신공항 부지조성공사의 기본설계 착수와 진해신항 항만배후단지 국가전략사업 확정 전, 주요 현안 점검 및 핵심 사업들의 본격 추진을 위해 마련됐다.

 

가덕도 신공항 건설 예정지와 진해신항 항만배후단지 대상지를 살펴본 박완수 도지사는 가덕도신공항・진해신항과 연계한 해상-항공복합운송(Sea&Air)의 거점 확보를 당부했으며, 경남이 글로벌 육상・해상・항공 복합물류거점으로 도약할 수 있도록 관계자들에게 속도감 있는 추진을 요청했다.

 

박 지사는 “경남의 지리적․경제적 특성상 트라이포트 기반의 물류경쟁력 확보가 지역 미래 성장과 직결된 중요한 과제”라며, “가덕신공항이 대한민국의 관문공항으로서의 역할을 수행하고, 항만배후단지의 조성을 통해 항만물류산업과 지역산업의 시너지를 이끌 수 있도록 노력해야한다”고 강조했다.

 

가덕도신공항은 총 13조 4,900억 원을 투입해 '29년 12월 개항을 목표로 하고 있다. 

 

대형화물기(B747-400F 등) 이착륙이 가능한 3,500m 활주로와 여객·화물터미널, 공항 접근도로·철도 건설, 상업 시설 등을 갖춘 국제공항으로 조성될 예정이다.

 

진해신항 항만배후단지는 신항만 규모 확대에 따라 지속적으로 증가하고 있는 물동량을 처리하기 위해 조성하는 물류부지로, 국가계획인 제4차 항만배후단지개발 종합계획에 따라 경남도・해수부・창원시가 공동으로 추진하는 사업이다. 

 

현재 국토교통부의 국가지역전략사업 최종 선정을 위한 중앙도시계획위원회 심의를 앞두고 있다.

 

한편, 경남도는 부산항 신항과 진해신항 건설 등으로 항만구역이 확대되면서 항만의 중심이 경남으로 이동하고 있는 상황에 발맞춰, 지속적으로 증가할 물동량에 대비해 항만 운영에 차질이 없도록 국가지역전략사업 최종 선정에 총력을 기울이고 있다.

The new Gadeokdo Airport aims to open in December 2029 with a total investment of 13.49 trillion won.

The Jinhae New Port Hinterland Complex is a logistics site being developed to handle the continuously increasing cargo volume as the size of the new port expands.
