▲ 창원시 문화예술인 축제 제38회 대동제 개막

[브레이크뉴스=이성용 기자] 창원 지역 문화예술인들의 축제인 ‘대동제’가 마산문화예술센터 시민극장에서 31일 개막했다.

 

이날 개막식에는 홍남표 시장을 비롯해 지역 국회의원, 도·시의원, 문화예술인과 시민 등 150여 명이 함께했다. 행사에서는 합동세배, 축하공연, 떡 자르기 세리머니 등이 펼쳐졌다.

 

대동제운영위원회(위원장 이강석) 주관으로 열리는 대동제는 지난 1988년 마산지역 문화예술인들이 설을 맞아 한자리에 모여 세배와 덕담을 나누고 전시와 공연을 연 것이 시초가 되었으며, 올해로 38회째를 맞았다. 

 

애초 문화예술인들 만의 축제였지만, 38회째를 이어오면서 시민들과 예술로 소통하는 창원특례시 대표 문화예술 행사로 자리를 잡고 있다.

올해 대동제는 개막식을 시작으로 2월 11일까지 시민극장과 창동아트센터 2층 전시실에서 미술, 문학, 사진 등 지역 문화예술인들의 작품전이 진행된다. 

 

특히 2월 8일 오후 3시에는 시민극장에서 문화예술인들이 펼치는 국악과 무용, 음악 등을 시민과 함께 나누는 어울마당 행사가 펼쳐진다. 

 

2월 12일 오후 5시 창원시립 문신미술관에서 진행되는 달맞이 기원제를 끝으로 대동제는 대단원의 막을 내린다.

 

홍남표 시장은 개막식에서 “을사년 새해를 맞아 열리는 제38회 대동제가 지역예술인과 시민들이 함께 어우러져 소통할 수 있는 뜻깊은 시간이 되기를 바란다”며, “예술가들의 뜨거운 열정과 자유로운 창의력처럼, 새해에는 창원특례시도 끝없는 혁신과 도전을 통해  동북아 중심도시를 향해 비상하고 도약할 수 있도록 쉼 없이 노력하겠다”고 말했다.
