[브레이크뉴스=이성용 기자] 올해 첫 시장·군수 정책회의가 5일 도청 대회의실에서 시장·군수 및 도 부지사, 실국본부장 등 40여 명이 참석한 가운데 열렸다.

 

이날 박완수 도지사는 “시군과 함께 공존과 성장을 바탕으로 ‘희망의 경남’을 만들어 가겠다”고 강조했다.

 

박 지사는 “지난해 경남은 시군과의 유기적인 협력으로 역대 최대의 성과를 거두며 경제 재도약의 기반을 다졌다. 또한 도정 주요 현안이 정부 계획에 원활히 반영될 수 있었던 것도 시군이 함께 노력한 덕분”이라고 평가했다.

 

이어 “올해 도정 구호는 '공존과 성장, 희망의 경남'으로 정했다”며 “시군과 협력해 상생하는 사회를 만들고, 주력 산업의 지속적인 성장을 통해 경남이 대한민국의 희망이 되도록 최선을 다하겠다”고 밝혔다.

 

이날 회의에서는 천혜의 자연과 역사·문화자원 등 남부권만이 가진 관광콘텐츠를 활용하는 ‘남부권 광역관광 개발사업’ 추진 현황과 관광산업을 통한 지역경제 활성화 방안도 중점적으로 논의했다.

 

‘남부권 광역관광 개발사업’은 경남도를 비롯해 부산, 울산, 광주, 전남 등 남부권 5개 시도와 정부가 공동 추진하는 초대형 국책사업으로, 경남에만 총 1조 1천억 원 규모의 예산이 투입될 예정이다.

 

경남도는 부산, 울산과 협력해 해양문화휴양관광지대(남동권)를 조성하고, 전남과 함께 영호남의 한국적인 경관과 문화를 활용한 한국형 웰니스 관광지대(남중권)를 구축할 계획이다. 

 

도는 이를 통해 관광산업을 활성화하고 지역경제를 견인하겠다는 방침이다.

 

아울러 도민 복지를 위한 ‘경남동행론’과 ‘희망지원금’ 추진을 비롯해 △저수온 어업 피해 최소화, △봄철 산불 예방 대책, △소나무재선충 방제 대응 등 생활 안전 분야에 대한 논의도 이뤄졌다.

 

또한, △도시숲 가족 힐링충전소 구축(진주), △통영항 야간경관 조성(통영), △무인기 종합타운 활성화(고성), △하동군 보건의료원 건립(하동) 등 각 시군의 주요 사업에 대한 협력 요청도 이어졌다.
