[브레이크뉴스=이성용 기자] 경남도는 6일 통영 복합해양 관광단지 조성 예정지인 도산면 일원과 통영시 수산식품산업거점센터에서 경남도, 통영시, 한화호텔&리조트, 용역사 등 24여 명이 참석해 킥오프 회의를 개최하고, 본격적으로 관광단지 추진에 돌입한다고 밝혔다.

 

이번 회의는 한화호텔&리조트 측에서 사업 추진계획을 보고한 후 경남도를 비롯한 각 기관별 의견을 청취하고 사업대상지 현장을 실사한 뒤 향후계획 등을 협의하는 일정으로 진행됐다.

 

또한, 통영 복합해양관광단지 조성계획을 구체화하고 각 기관 간 협력을 강화하는 한편 사업현황과 추진방향에 대한 이해를 돕는 중요한 자리가 됐다.

 

주요 협의내용은 관광단지 지정 및 조성계획 승인 동시 추진으로 행정소요 기간 단축, 단계별 주요 승인 기관 및 협의 기관과의 긴밀한 사전협의를 통한 속도감 있는 사업 추진, 관광단지 지정 및 조성계획 승인을 위한 최적의 구역계 설정, 과업수행을 위한 T/F 구성 등이다.

 

특히, 과업수행을 위한 T/F단 구성은 사업 입안권자인 통영시, 결정권자인 경남도의 실무인력이 참여하고, 사업주체인 한화측에서는 도시계획･건축･토목･환경･교통･수자원 분야 등 유사분야 경험을 갖춘 전문인력이 참여하여 사업 실시설계 단계에서부터 사업 구역 내 다양한 규제해소 방안 등에 대한 종합 솔루션을 인허가 기관과 함께 협업하여 중점 검토할 예정이다.

 

이날 한화호텔&리조트측은 관광단지의 비전과 발전계획을 공유하고, 지역 발전과 경제 활성화에 미칠 긍정적인 영향을 강조하면서 경남도와 통영시의 적극적인 지원을 요청했다.

 

경남도와 통영시에서는 통영 복합해양관광단지가 지역 경제 활성화에 중요한 역할을 할 것으로 보고, 적극적인 행정적 지원을 약속했다.

 

경남도는 관광단지 지정 및 조성계획 수립을 위한 관련 계획과 자료 제공, 인허가 협의를 위한 법률 검토 및 관련 부서와의 협의 등을 지원할 계획이다. 통영시는 지역의 관광 인프라를 확충하고 해양관광 산업을 활성화하기 위해 적극 협력할 예정이다.

 

김상원 경남도 관광개발국장은 “이번 회의를 시작으로 각 기관이 일심동체가 되어 통영 복합해양관광단지를 조속히 조성해 가겠다”며면서, “통영을 비롯한 남해안 지역이 해양관광 산업의 중심지로 자리매김할 수 있도록 최선을 다하겠다”라고 말했다.

 

경남도는 앞으로 기관별 추가적인 논의와 협의를 거쳐 구체적인 조성계획을 수립하여 관광단지 개발에 박차를 가할 계획이다.

 

한편, ‘통영 복합해양관광단지’는 전국 최초로 관광 분야 기회발전특구로 지정되어 통영시 도산면 법송리와 수월리 일원에 약 446만㎡(약 135만 평) 규모의 복합해양관광단지를 조성하는 사업이다.
