▲ 군민 대상 찾아가는 성인지 교육

[브레이크뉴스=주윤한 기자] 거창군은 성평등 실천을 확산하고 지역사회의 긍정적인 변화를 이끌어 내기 위해 2023년부터 시작한 ‘찾아가는 성인지 교육’을 올해에도 운영하며 군민들의 성평등 의식 향상을 위한 노력을 강화하고 있다.

 

‘찾아가는 성인지 교육’은 일상 속 평등에 대한 군의 의지 표명하며 2023년 신규사업으로 추진해 온 것으로 올해로 3년째에 접어들었다.

 

군민들의 높은 관심과 참여로 작년까지 총 168회에 걸쳐 노인, 초등학생, 대학생, 돌봄종사자, 마을 이장, 사회단체, 학부모 등 4,200여명을 대상으로 진행됐다.

 

교육은 군민들이 성인지 감수성을 올바르게 이해하도록 돕고 거창군이 성평등지수 1위 지자체로 나아가기 위한 핵심 사업으로 군민들로부터 큰 호응을 얻고 있다.

 

군은 올해 관련 기관, 단체와 협업을 강화해 더욱 효과적인 교육을 제공할 계획이다.

 

교육 신청은 2월 14일까지 거창군청 행복나눔과 여성보육담당에서 접수하며 예산범위 내에서 선착순으로 진행된다.

 

신청을 원하는 군민은 관련 부서에 문의 후 직접 신청하면 된다.

 

특히 올해부터는 군민들이 더욱 다양한 교육을 선택할 수 있도록 교육 주제를 확대해 성인지 교육과 함께 폭력 예방 교육도 함께 운영한다.

 

구인모 군수는 “성평등은 단순한 법적 문제를 넘어, 지역사회의 문화와 깊이 연결되어 있다”며 “성평등지수 1위 지자체로 도약하기 위해 군민들의 성인지 감수성을 높이는 것이 무엇보다 중요하다”고 강조했다.

 

이어 “일상 속 성차별을 개선하고 군민 모두가 성 평등한 문화를 자연스럽게 받아들일 수 있도록 최선을 다하겠다”고 밝혔다.
