[브레이크뉴스=이성용 기자] 창원시 관내 태양광 발전사업 인허가 신청이 매년 급속적으로 증가하고 있는 것으로 나타났다.

 

시에 따르면 신청 건수가 2023년 161건에서 2024년 263건으로 약 1.6배 증가했으며, 지난 1월에는 2024년 1월 대비 약 5배 증가한 것으로 나타났다.

 

창원시 지역경제과 관계자는 “현재까지 창원시에 허가된 태양광 발전사업의 총 발전량은 약 200㎿로, 이는 약 7만여 가구가 태양광 주택을 사용할 수 있는 규모”라고 밝혔다.

 

태양광 발전사업이 매년 증가하는 주요 이유는 산업단지 경기 침체로 건물주들이 공장 지붕을 발전사업자에게 임대하여 추가 수익을 창출하는 사례가 증가하고 있다.

 

또한, 신소재 개발에 따른 태양광 설치 비용 감소, 셋째 정부가 설치비의 80%를 저금리(약 1.7%)로 지원하여 초기 비용 부담이 낮아짐을 이유로 들 수 있다.
