[브레이크뉴스=정철규 기자] 진주시 차석호 부시장이 지난 8일 중국 쓰촨성 쯔궁시에서 열린 ‘제31회 국제공룡등불축제’를 방문했다고 10일 밝혔다. 

 

이번 방문은 진주남강유등축제의 경쟁력 강화와 글로벌화를 위한 방안을 모색하는 차원에서 진행됐다.

 

차 부시장은 쯔궁시 관계자들과 간담회를 가지며 양 도시 축제 간 협력 방안을 논의하고, 축제 현장을 둘러보았다. 

 

쯔궁시의 국제공룡등불축제는 중국에서 하얼빈 빙등축제와 함께 유명한 축제 중 하나로, 올해는 7개의 주요 테마구역과 200여 개의 등불세트가 전시되고 있다.

 

차석호 부시장은 “쯔궁 축제의 규모와 정교한 등불 제작 방식에 깊은 인상을 받았다”며“쯔궁시와의 지속적인 협력을 통해 진주남강유등축제의 글로벌화를 이끌어가겠다”고 말했다.

 

한편 진주시는 지난해 대한민국 문화도시로 지정됐으며, 이를 바탕으로 유등 제작 전문 인력을 양성하고 다양한 유등을 제작해 축제의 경쟁력을 높일 계획이다.
