▲ 농촌지역 마당개 중성화 수술 지원

[브레이크뉴스=양영석 기자] 김해시는 농촌지역 실외 사육견 중성화 수술 지원사업을 추진한다고 18일 밝혔다.

 

농촌지역 마당개들은 야생개와 접촉하며 무분별하게 증가한 개체들이 버려져 야생화돼 가축을 공격하거나 사람 물림 사고 우려를 증가시킨다.

 

이에 시는 농촌지역 야생개 개체 수 조절로 보다 안전한 농촌환경을 조성하고자 한다.

 

사업비는 4,000만원이며 100마리를 지원한다.

 

지원 대상은 읍면동 농촌지역 실외에서 기르는 5개월령 이상의 마당개로 1가구 당 최대 5마리까지 신청 가능하다.

 

내장형 동물등록을 마친 마당개에 한하며 미등록견은 동물등록 이행 조건 하에 신청할 수 있다.

 

희망자는 사육지 읍면동 행정복지센터를 방문해 신청서를 제출하면 되고 소유자가 기초생활수급자, 차상위계층, 고령자인 경우와 마당개가 중·대형 혼종견인 경우 우선 지원받을 수 있다.

 

대상자로 선정되면 가까운 협력 동물병원과 일정, 절차, 비용 등을 사전 협의한 뒤 개와 함께 동물병원을 방문해 수술을 받으면 된다.

 

지원은 암컷은 최대 40만원, 수컷은 최대 20만원까지 지원받을 수 있다.

 

동물병원 진료가격은 자율로 사전검사 비용, 수술 후 처치 등의 추가 비용은 견주 자부담 원칙이다.

 

황희철 김해시농업기술센터 소장은 “이번 사업으로 무분별한 번식을 억제하고 야생화된 개체들로 인한 피해를 줄일 수 있을 것”이라며 “많은 관심과 참여를 부탁드린다”고 당부했다.
