[브레이크뉴스=이성용 기자] 창원한마음병원 오케스트라(단장 하충식)가 올해로 창단 4주년을 맞았다. 이를 기념하기 위해 지난 2일, 창원한마음병원 1층 아동의학센터 앞에서는 감동의 음악회가 개최됐다.

창원한마음병원 오케스트라는 현재 총 28명의 정규 단원으로 구성된 국내 최초 기업형 장애인 오케스트라로, 이날 공연에서 이들은 ‘When You Wish Upon a Star’ 핸드벨 공연을 시작으로 ‘바람이 불어오는 곳’, ‘쇼스타코비치 왈츠 2번’, ‘캐리비안 해적 OST’, ‘아름다운 강산’ 등 다양한 장르의 곡들을 연주했다. 

창원한마음병원 오케스트라는 2021년 7월 창단된 이후 병원과 지역사회 안팎에서 꾸준히 연주를 이어오며, 음악을 통한 위로와 공감을 전해왔다. 창단 당시 단원 대부분이 악기를 처음 접했지만, 바이올린, 비올라, 첼로, 콘트라베이스, 플롯, 클라리넷, 색소폰, 트럼펫, 트럼본 파트를 구성, 매주 이어지는 연습과 함께 병원 공식행사와 외부 초청 무대에 오르며 하나의 앙상블로 성장했다.

시작부터 ‘지속 가능한 음악 활동’을 목표로 오케스트라를 조직했고, 4년 동안 한 해도 빠짐없이 정기 공연을 이어왔다. 음악은 단원들에게 자존감과 삶의 리듬을 되찾게 했고, 이를 지켜보는 병원 구성원과 지역사회에도 장애에 대한 인식의 전환을 가져왔다.
