[브레이크뉴스=이성용 기자] 경남도는 취약지역 주민들의 최소한의 삶의 질 보장을 위해 지방시대위원회가 추진하는 2026년 농어촌 취약지역 생활여건 개조(새뜰마을)사업 공모에 최종 15개 마을이 선정됐다고 7일 밝혔다.

 

이번 사업은 대통령 직속 지방시대위원회에서 사업계획서 검토, 대면·현장평가 등 사업성 평가를 통해 ‘2026년 취약지역 생활여건 개조(새뜰마을)사업’ 신규 사업대상지로 최종 102개소(농어촌 87, 도시 15)를 선정했다.

 

경남도는 지역 국회의원과의 협업 등 다양한 노력을 통해 경북, 전남에 이어 세 번째로 많은 사업이 선정됐다.

 

신규 사업지구인 15개소는 농어촌지역 14개소(김해시 진례면 신월마을, 한림면 인현마을, 의령군 부림면 하여마을, 부림면 익구마을, 함안군 대산면 신등마을, 고성군 마암면 전포마을, 남해군 고현면 선원마을, 산청군 단성면 칠정마을, 차황면 삼거마을, 함양군 유림면 판문마을, 백전면 동백마을, 거창군 가북면 공수마을, 합천군 가야면 대전마을, 청덕면 가현마을), 도시 지역 1개소(밀양시 삼랑진읍 임천마을)이며, 농어촌 지역 선정 마을에는 4년간 국비 최대 16억 5천만 원, 도시지역은 5년간 최대 33억 원이 지원된다.

 

취약지역 생활여건 개조사업은 국가균형발전정책의 대표적인 사업으로서 주거, 안전, 위생 등 주민 생활과 밀접한 생활 여건을 개선하기 위해 지난 2015년부터 이어져 왔다.

 

주요 사업으로 ▵슬레이트 지붕 개량, 노후주택 정비 등 주택 정비 ▵담장·축대 정비, 소방도로 확충 등 안전시설 정비 ▵재래식 화장실 개선, 상·하수도 정비 등 생활 인프라 확충 ▵주민 공동체 활성화를 위한 노인 돌봄과 건강관리 프로그램 등 휴먼케어와 주민역량강화사업 등이 있다.

 

경남도는 2025년까지 141개 사업에 3,013억 원을 투입해 오고 있으며 2026년 선정된 15개 사업지구 사업비는 오는 12월 정부예산에 따라 확정될 예정이다.

 

유명현 균형발전본부장은 “‘마을이 잘 살아야 나라가 살아난다’는 말처럼 이번 사업이 지역 전체에 활력을 불어넣는 마중물이 되어, 체감할 수 있는 주민의 삶의 질 향상과 더불어 외부에서 찾아오는 활기찬 마을로 변모하길 기대한다”라고 말했다.
