[브레이크뉴스=이성용 기자] 경남도는 24일 양산시 하북면 용연리 산63-25, 천성산 내원사 조계암 일원에 자생하는 수령 약 300년 된 산뽕나무를 보호수로 지정한다고 밝혔다.

 

이번에 지정한 보호수는 해발 500m 부근의 천성산 숲속에 자리하고 있으며, 주변은 도 지정 자연유산이자 역사문화환경보존지역으로 문화·생태적으로 매우 귀한 장소다.

 

특히, 이번 지정은 경남도 보호수 중 ‘산뽕나무’ 수종으로는 처음으로, 학술적 가치는 물론 희귀성 면에서도 의미가 깊다.
