[브레이크뉴스=이성용 기자] 경남도는 진주시, 의령군, 하동군, 함양군 등 4개 시군과 밀양시 무안면, 거창군 신원·남상면 등 7곳이 산청·합천군에 이어 특별재난지역으로 추가 지정됐고 7일 밝혔다.
앞서 산청군과 합천군이 지정된 바 있으며, 이번 추가 지정으로 도내 총 9곳이 특별재난지역으로 지정됐다.
이번 집중호우로 진주시 107억 원, 의령군 125억 원, 하동군 148억 원, 함양군 117억 원의 피해가 발생해 모두 특별재난지역 선포 기준을 초과했다.
또한, 읍면동 단위에서도 밀양시 무안면 22억 원, 거창군 신원면 23억 원, 남상면 19억 원의 피해가 발생하여 지정 요건을 충족했다.
특별재난지역으로 지정됨에 따라 지방자치단체가 부담해야 할 복구비 일부가 국비로 전환되어 재정 부담이 크게 완화될 전망이다.
또한, 피해 주민들에게는 세금 및 보험료 감면, 전기·가스 등 공과금 납부 유예 등 간접 지원이 제공되어 생활 안정에 실질적인 도움이 될 것으로 기대된다.
경남도는 이번 추가 지정을 위해 정부와 긴밀히 협력해 왔다.
