‘해담쌀’은 병충해에 강하고 쓰러짐이 적은 내도복성 품종으로, 수확 시기가 빨라 추석 전 조기 출하가 가능하다. 조생종 벼는 4월 하순부터 모내기를 실시해 4개월 만의 수확으로, 이후 지역 농협을 통해 본격적인 출하가 이뤄질 예정이다.

특히, 조기 출하된 해담쌀은 신선하고 부드러운 식감과 깊은 풍미로 소비자 만족도가 높아, 추석 성수기 시장 선점과 함께 농가소득 증대에 크게 기여할 것으로 기대된다.
