[브레이크뉴스=정철규 기자] 진주시는 조규일 시장이 ‘나불천 국가생태문화탐방로 조성사업’ 현장을 방문해 공사 추진 상황을 점검하고 관계자들을 격려했다고 16일 밝혔다.

나불천 국가생태문화탐방로 조성사업은 지난 2023년 10월 환경부의 국가생태탐방로 공모사업에 선정된 이후 국비 22억원을 포함한 총 49억원의 사업비를 투입해 오는 2027년까지 완료할 계획이다.

사업 대상지는 나불천 복개도로에서 명석면 나불교까지 이어지는 구간으로, 나불천의 생태자원을 효율적으로 감상할 수 있는 도보 중심의 탐방로로 조성된다.

주요 내용은 기존 자전거도로를 활용한 탐방로 정비, 숲속 탐방 코스 신설, 전망대와 쉼터 설치, 복개도로 구간 탐방로 정비 등이며, 시는 친환경적이고 지속가능한 생태관광 기반을 구축한다는 방침이다.

조규일 시장은 “탐방로 조성사업은 나불천의 우수한 생태자원을 보존·관리함과 동시에 시민들이 쉽게 걷고 즐길 수 있는 친환경 치유공간으로 거듭나게 될 것이다”고 말했다.
