[브레이크뉴스=정철규 기자] 주시는 내년부터 모든 시민이 자동 가입되는 시민안전보험의 보장 항목을 확대해 더 많은 시민이 안전 혜택을 받을 수 있도록 시행한다고 31일 밝혔다.

 

이번 확대 시행으로 다중운집 인파 사고 등 사회재난과 태풍·홍수·지진 등 자연재해로 인한 사망 시 최대 2000만 원까지 보장하는 항목이 새롭게 추가된다.

 

또 시는 성폭력 범죄 피해자를 위한 위로금 항목을 신설해 피해자에게 최대 500만 원을 지급하는 등 사회적 약자 보호 기능을 강화했다.

 

시민안전보험은 진주시에 주민등록이 된 시민이면 외국인을 포함해 별도 절차 없이 자동 가입되며 사고 발생 지역과 관계없이 보장을 받을 수 있다.

 

이 보험은 개인 실손보험과 중복 보장이 가능해 시민 부담을 줄이고, 일상생활 중 예기치 못한 사고에 실질적인 도움을 주는 제도로 평가된다.
