[브레이크뉴스=황민성 기자] 밀양시는 기후변화와 노동력 부족 등 급변하는 농업 환경에 대응하기 위한 미래형 사과 재배 모델을 공유하고, 사과산업의 경쟁력 강화를 위해 사과 재배 농업인을 대상으로 '미래형 사과과원 조성을 위한 설명회'를 개최했다.

7일 산내면 얼음골사과발전협의회 대강당에서 열린 이번 설명회는 농촌진흥청 국립원예특작과학원 사과연구센터 이동혁 소장이 △우리나라 사과산업의 문제점 △미래형 사과과원의 개념 △미래형 사과 재배생산체계 필요성 △미래형 사과과원 정착을 위한 제언 등을 주제로 설명했다.

이 소장은 "미래형 사과과원은 생산성과 품질을 동시에 높이면서도 노동력을 획기적으로 줄일 수 있는 방향으로 전환이 필요하다"며 "현장에 적용 가능한 기술 보급을 통해 지속 가능한 사과산업 기반을 구축해 나가야 한다"고 강조했다.

설명회에 참석한 농업인들은 최신 연구 성과와 실제 적용 사례를 공유받고, 질의응답을 통해 재배 현장의 애로사항과 기술 적용 방안 등에 대해 의견을 나눴다.

신상철 농업기술센터소장은 "이번 설명회가 사과 재배 농가의 경영 안정과 경쟁력 향상에 실질적인 도움이 되길 기대한다"며 "앞으로도 연구기관과의 협력을 강화해 미래형 과원 조성을 위한 기술 확산과 현장 지원을 추진하겠다"고 전했다.
