[브레이크뉴스=정철규 기자] 진주시는 행안부가 발표한 지난 2025년 지역안전지수 평가에서 교통사고와 화재, 생활안전, 자살 등 4개 분야가 3등급 이상을 받았다고 13일 밝혔다.

 

지역안전지수는 교통사고·화재·범죄·생활안전·자살·감염병 등 6개 분야의 안전 수준을 지자체 유형별로 상대 평가하는 국가 지표다.

 

진주시는 교통사고 3등급, 화재 3등급, 생활안전 2등급, 자살 3등급을 기록하며 전반적인 지역 안전 수준이 개선된 것으로 나타났다.

 

또 교통사고 분야는 안전환경 개선사업 확대와 안전벨트 착용률 향상, 음주운전 경험률 감소 등의 영향으로 전년 대비 1단계 상승했다.

 

범죄와 감염병 분야는 등급은 유지됐지만 CCTV 확충과 경찰 협력, 감염병 관리 강화로 세부 평가지표가 전반적인 개선 추세를 보이고 있다.

 

진주시는 경찰·소방 등 유관기관과 TF 추진단을 운영하며 맞춤형 안전사업을 지속 추진해 지역안전지수 개선에 행정력을 집중하고 있다.

 

진주시 관계자는 “앞으로도 유관기관과 협력을 강화해 취약 분야를 중심으로 시민이 체감하는 안전도시를 만들어 가겠다”고 말했다.
