[브레이크뉴스=정철규 기자] 진주시는 은퇴를 앞두거나 은퇴한 50~64세 신중년 세대의 인생 2막을 지원하기 위한 다양한 맞춤형 정책을 추진하고 있다고 13일 밝혔다.

 

시는 구 성북동행정복지센터 건물을 리모델링한 신중년 복합문화공간 ‘Re-Born센터’를 올해 상반기 개소할 예정이며 준비에 속도를 내고 있다.

 

‘Re-Born센터’는 기존 노인복지 중심 정책을 넘어 은퇴 이후에도 일과 배움, 사회참여를 이어갈 수 있도록 돕는 신중년 전용 거점 공간이다.

 

센터는 인생설계 상담과 재취업·창업 역량 강화 교육, 맞춤형 일자리 연계, 사회공헌 활동 지원 등이 종합적으로 운영될 계획이다.

 

또 센터는 전문성과 경험을 갖춘 베이비붐 세대가 지역사회에서 정책 수혜자가 아닌 주체로 참여할 수 있도록 하는 데 중점을 두고 있다.

 

특히 시는 인생이모작학교와 신중년 5060+아카데미 등 신중년 역량 활용 사업을 선제적으로 시행해 정책 실효성을 높이고 있다.

 

진주시 관계자는 “신중년 세대가 존중받으며 다시 도약할 수 있도록 인생 2막을 지원하는 정책을 지속적으로 확대해 나가겠다”고 말했다.
