[브레이크뉴스=정철규 기자] 진주시는 14일 시청 정문에서 여성친화도시 지정을 기념하는 현판 제막식을 개최하고 시민과 함께 안전하고 평등한 도시 조성을 공식 선언했다.

 

이번 행사는 성평등가족부 여성친화도시 지정 성과를 기념하고 시민 중심의 성평등 정책을 지속 추진하겠다는 의지를 알리기 위해 마련됐다.

 

행사는 조규일 진주시장을 비롯해 여성친화도시 시민참여단과 여성단체 관계자들이 참석해 여성친화도시 비전을 공유했다.

 

진주시는 생활안전 개선과 가족 친화 돌봄 환경 조성, 성평등 인식 확산 등 다양한 정책을 추진해 여성친화도시 재지정 성과를 거뒀다.

 

이인우 여성친화도시 단장은 “여성친화도시는 특정 계층을 위한 정책이 아니라 시민 모두의 삶의 질을 높이는 도시 전략이다”고 전했다.

 

조규일 진주시장은 “여성친화도시 지정은 시민과 지역사회의 협력으로 이뤄낸 성과다”며“모두가 안전하고 평등한 행복 도시를 함께 만들어 가겠다”고 말했다.
