[브레이크뉴스=황민성 기자] 한겨울 속 봄의 향기가 물씬 풍기는 지리산 청정지역의 하동 취나물이 본격 출하하기 시작했다.

 

하동군은 지난 13일 하동농협 적량지점 산지유통센터에서 하승철 하동군수, 정영섭 하동군의회 부의장, 장주익 농협중앙회 하동군지부장, 지역 군의원, 취나물 재배 농가 등 60명이 참석한 가운데 ‘2026년 취나물 초매식 및 산지 경매’를 진행했다.

 

이날 초매식은 하동농협이 주관하고, 우계작목반, 삼화작목반, 고절리 작목반에서 함께 했다.

 

초매식에는 취나물 풍작과 무사 안녕을 기원하는 행사에 이어 올해 첫 출하 된 취나물 현장 경매 방식으로 진행됐다.

 

첫 출하한 취나물 경매가는 전년보다 8% 높은 kg당 1만 원 선으로 총 1.9톤이 거래됐다.

 

하동에서는 이번 첫 경매를 시작으로 5월까지는 시설 취나물, 3월 중순부터 6월까지는 노지 취나물이 출하된다.

 

적량·청암·횡천·양보면 등 청정 지리산 일원 630개 농가가 97여㏊의 재배면적에서 연간 3400t의 취나물을 생산해 52억 원의 소득을 올리고 있다.

 

하동산 취나물은 지리산 청정지역에서 재배돼 맛과 품질이 우수할 뿐만 아니라 향이 뛰어나고, 비타민C와 아미노산·칼륨 등 영양이 풍부해 대도시 소비자들의 관심이 높다.
