[브레이크뉴스=정철규 기자] 진주시는 대학생의 경제적 부담을 덜고 안정적인 학업 환경을 위해 ‘2026년 상반기 대학생 학자금대출 이자 지원’ 신청을 내달 27일까지 접수한다고 29일 밝혔다.

 

이번 지원 대상은 공고일 기준 본인 또는 부모가 1년 이상 진주시에 주민등록이 된 대학(원) 재학생·휴학생으로, 한국장학재단 학자금대출 이용자에 한해 지원한다.

 

지원 대상 학자금은 지난 2017년 이후 한국장학재단을 통해 받은 취업 후 상환 또는 일반상환 학자금대출로, 지난 2025년 하반기 발생 이자가 해당된다.

 

신청 기간은 오는 2월 2일부터 27일까지이며, 진주시청 누리집 ‘분야별정보–교육정보–학자금대출지원’ 메뉴를 통해 온라인으로 신청할 수 있다.

 

지원 대상자로 확정되면 이자 지원금은 한국장학재단 학자금대출 상환 계좌로 상환 처리되며, 지원 결과는 재단 홈페이지에서 확인 가능하다.

 

진주시 관계자는 “학비와 생활비 부담 속에서도 미래를 준비하는 대학생과 청년들이 학업에 전념할 수 있도록 실질적인 지원을 이어가겠다”고 말했다.
