▲ 사천시, 통합 31주년 시민의 날 기념식

[브레이크뉴스=황민성 기자] 사천시가 통합 출범 31주년을 맞아 시민과 함께 걸어온 성장의 시간을 되짚으며 미래 도약 의지를 다졌다.

 

시는 8일 오전 시청 대강당에서 5월 정례조회와 함께 제31주년 사천시민의 날 기념식을 개최했다고 밝혔다.

 

이번 행사는 유공 시민과 공직자의 노고를 격려하고, 1995년 사천군과 삼천포시 통합 이후 이어온 도시 발전 성과를 공유하기 위해 마련됐다. 

 

특히 제9회 전국동시지방선거를 앞둔 시점인 만큼 행사 전반은 차분하고 절제된 분위기 속에서 진행됐다.

 

기념식은 국민의례를 시작으로 유공 시민·직원 시상, 시민헌장 낭독, 기념사, 시민의 노래 제창 순으로 이어졌다.

 

이날 지역사회 발전에 기여한 시민 13명과 예방접종사업·보건·장애인복지·지방세정 등 각 분야에서 성과를 낸 공직자 7명 등 모두 20명이 표창을 받았다.

 

김제홍 사천시장 권한대행은 기념사에서 “사천시는 지난 31년간 변화와 도전을 거치며 대한민국 대표 우주항공도시이자 해양관광도시로 성장해 왔다”며 “시민 삶의 질을 높이고 더 행복한 도시를 만들기 위해 시민과 공직자가 함께 힘을 모아야 한다”고 말했다.

 

이어 “사천의 더 큰 미래를 위해 시민들의 지혜와 열정을 모아달라”고 당부했다.

 

한편 사천시는 통합 이후 우주항공산업과 해양관광산업을 양대 축으로 육성하며 지역 경쟁력 강화에 주력하고 있다.

The city announced that it held the 31st Anniversary Sacheon Citizens’ Day ceremony on the morning of the 8th at the City Hall auditorium, alongside its May regular meeting.

 

This event was organized to commend the hard work of distinguished citizens and public officials and to share the achievements of urban development that have continued since the integration of Sacheon-gun and Samcheonpo-si in 1995.

 

In particular, given that the 9th nationwide simultaneous local elections are approaching, the event proceeded in a calm and restrained atmosphere.

 

The ceremony began with the national anthem, followed by the awarding of honors to distinguished citizens and employees, the reading of the Citizens’ Charter, a commemorative address, and the singing of the Citizens’ Song.
