[브레이크뉴스=이성용 기자] 경상남도가 CTX-진해선 신설과 군 전용 철도노선 대체 방안 마련을 위해 국군수송사령부, 창원시와 협의에 나섰다.

 

경남도는 지난 15일 관계기관 협의를 열고 CTX-진해선 신설과 행암항 지선(행암선) 설치, 기존 사비선 대체 방안 등을 논의했다고 밝혔다.

 

이번 협의는 군 수송 기능을 유지하면서도 진해 구도심과 주거 밀집지역을 통과하는 기존 군 전용 철도노선에 따른 소음·안전 문제와 주민 민원을 해소하기 위해 추진됐다.

 

현재 사비선과 행암선은 도심을 통과하면서 생활환경 저해와 안전 우려 등이 지속적으로 제기돼 왔다.

 

협의에서 국군수송사령부는 군 수송 기능 유지 필요성을 전제로 CTX-진해선 신설과 행암선 지선 연계 방안에 협조 의사를 밝힌 것으로 전해졌다.

 

경남도는 사비선 대체와 행암선 연계 사업 추진을 위해서는 CTX-진해선이 우선 제5차 국가철도망 구축계획에 반영돼야 한다는 입장을 강조했다.

 

도는 국가철도망 구축계획 반영이 이뤄져야 향후 노선 신설의 정책적 근거와 사업 추진 기반이 마련될 수 있다고 설명했다.

 

또 이번 사업이 단순 지역 현안이 아니라 국가안보와 군수물류 유지, 주민 생활환경 개선, 지역 철도 인프라 확충을 동시에 해결하는 정책 과제로 접근해야 한다고 밝혔다.

 

경남도는 앞으로 국군수송사령부와 창원시, 중앙부처와 협의를 이어가며 CTX-진해선의 국가계획 반영 필요성을 공동 대응해 나갈 계획이다.
