[브레이크뉴스=이성용 기자] 경남교육청이 국회에서 공적돌봄 체계 구축 방안을 제안하며 국가 차원의 돌봄정책 논의를 이끌었다.

 

경상남도교육청은 16일 국회의원회관에서 ‘지속가능한 공적돌봄 체계 구축 방안 제안 보고회’를 개최하고 국회, 국가교육위원회, 교육부와 함께 국가 책임 돌봄체계 구축 방안을 논의했다.

 

이날 보고회에는 박종훈 교육감을 비롯해 고민정, 차정인, 교육부 관계자 등 40여 명이 참석했다.

 

경남교육청은 그동안 운영해 온 돌봄센터 사례를 바탕으로 정책 제안을 발표하고, 돌봄을 단순한 복지 서비스가 아닌 학생 성장과 배움을 지원하는 교육정책으로 접근해야 한다고 강조했다.

 

특히 지역사회와 학교가 함께 책임지는 지속가능한 공적돌봄 체계 구축 필요성을 제시하며, 현장 경험을 기반으로 한 경남형 돌봄모델을 국가 정책으로 확대할 것을 제안했다.

 

보고회에서는 경남교육청의 돌봄 운영 사례와 정책 제안 발표에 이어 국회와 국가교육위원회, 교육부 관계자들이 참여한 정책 협의가 진행됐다. 참석자들은 돌봄 공백 해소와 국가 책임 강화 방안을 중심으로 의견을 교환했다.

 

경남교육청은 이날 논의가 저출생과 맞벌이 가정 증가 등 사회 변화에 대응하는 국가 돌봄체계 구축의 출발점이 될 것으로 기대하고 있다.

 

또한 행사 말미에는 그동안의 성과와 향후 과제를 담은 정책 제안 보고서 전달식도 함께 진행됐다.

 

이번 보고회는 개별 교육청의 정책 건의를 넘어 현장 중심의 돌봄 운영 경험을 국가 정책으로 연결하기 위한 자리라는 점에서 의미를 갖는다. 경남교육청은 앞으로도 지역 실정에 맞는 돌봄 모델을 발전시키고 국가 차원의 제도화 논의를 지속적으로 이끌어 나갈 계획이다.
