[브레이크뉴스=황민성 기자] 창원경상국립대학교병원이 지역 정신장애인을 위한 보건·복지 협력 모델의 성과를 공유하며 지역사회 기반 정신건강 지원체계 강화에 나섰다.

 

창원경상국립대병원은 23일 창원컨벤션센터에서 열린 ‘경남형 지역밀착 보건·복지 협력 모형개발 성과공유회’에서 정신건강의학과 임은지 교수와 이유진 사회복지사가 협력기관 우수사례를 발표했다고 밝혔다.

 

이번 사업은 아산사회복지재단의 지원을 받아 경상남도장애인종합복지관이 주관하고, 마산·밀양·양산 장애인복지관이 참여하는 사업으로, 창원경상국립대병원은 지역 종합병원 가운데 유일한 협력 의료기관으로 참여하고 있다.

 

병원은 정신건강의학과 전문의와 사회복지사가 지역 보건·복지기관과 협력해 정신건강 고위험군을 조기에 발굴하고, 치료부터 사회복귀까지 연계 지원하는 통합 돌봄체계를 운영해 왔다. 특히 경제적 어려움이나 사회적 고립으로 치료를 받기 어려웠던 환자들에게 외래·입원 치료는 물론 퇴원 이후 복지서비스까지 연속적으로 제공한 사례가 소개됐다.

 

임은지 교수는 “정신장애인의 회복은 병원 치료만으로는 한계가 있으며 지역사회의 포용과 지원이 필수적”이라며 “의료진과 사회복지사, 지역기관이 하나의 팀으로 협력해 실질적인 변화를 만들어냈다”고 말했다.

 

이유진 사회복지사는 “퇴원 이후에도 안정적인 지역사회 정착이 가능하도록 의료·보건·복지기관 간 양방향 협력체계를 구축하는 데 중점을 뒀다”며 “앞으로도 더욱 촘촘한 복지 안전망을 만들어 나가겠다”고 밝혔다.

 

창원경상국립대병원은 이번 성과를 바탕으로 지역 유관기관과의 협력을 확대하고, 지역 밀착형 정신건강 통합서비스 모델을 지속적으로 발전시켜 나갈 계획이다.
