[브레이크뉴스=이성용 기자] 경상남도가 6·25전쟁 발발 76주년을 맞아 참전유공자의 희생을 기리고 보훈정책 강화 의지를 밝혔다.

 

경남도는 25일 창원컨벤션센터에서 ‘6·25전쟁 제76주년 기념행사’를 열고 참전유공자와 유족 등 500여 명과 함께 호국영웅들의 희생정신을 되새겼다고 밝혔다.

 

이날 행사에는 박완수 경남도지사와 김종양 국회의원, 도의원, 기관·단체장, 보훈단체장 등이 참석했다.

 

박 지사는 기념사에서 “오늘의 대한민국은 6·25전쟁에서 나라를 지키기 위해 희생한 참전용사들의 헌신 위에 세워졌다”며 “전쟁의 역사적 의미를 미래세대에 올바르게 전달하는 것이 우리의 책임”이라고 강조했다.

 

이어 “호국과 보훈은 국가의 기본 책무”라며 “참전유공자 수당과 지원 확대, 보훈시설 정비, 보훈교육 강화 등을 통해 예우와 지원을 지속적으로 강화하겠다”고 밝혔다.

 

기념행사는 식전 공연을 시작으로 묵념, 참전유공자 인터뷰 영상 상영, 창작국악뮤지컬 공연, 유공자 시상, 회고사, 6·25 노래 제창 순으로 진행됐다.

 

특히 참전유공자 인터뷰 영상과 창작국악뮤지컬 ‘낙동강’ 공연은 경남지역 전투의 역사와 희생을 조명하며 참석자들에게 깊은 울림을 전했다.

 

이후 위로 행사에서는 어린이합창단과 초청 공연이 이어지며 국가유공자에 대한 감사와 예우의 의미를 더했다.
