[브레이크뉴스=이성용 기자] 경남도 특별사법경찰이 의료기기 불법 유통·판매 행위를 집중 단속해 12건의 위법 행위를 적발하고 관련자를 형사 입건했다.

 

경남도 특별사법경찰은 지난 5월 18일부터 7월 3일까지 의료기기 판매업소와 미용업소 등을 대상으로 기획 단속을 실시한 결과 의료기기법 및 공중위생관리법 위반 사례 12건을 적발했다고 7일 밝혔다.

 

이번 단속은 가정의 달과 나들이철을 맞아 수요가 늘어난 실버·헬스케어·뷰티케어 관련 의료기기의 불법 유통과 허위 광고를 점검하기 위해 실시됐다. 의료기기판매업 신고를 한 뒤 실제로는 미용업을 운영하는 업소도 수사 대상에 포함됐다.

 

적발된 위반 유형은 △미신고 의료기기 판매업 운영 3건 △미인증 의료기기 판매 또는 판매 목적 진열·보관 2건 △의료기기가 아닌 제품을 의료기기인 것처럼 광고한 행위 2건 △공중위생관리법 위반 5건이다.

 

A업소는 미용업과 의료기기판매업을 함께 신고한 뒤 의료기기 인증을 받지 않은 제품을 판매하거나 진열한 혐의를 받고 있다.

 

B업소는 의료기기가 아닌 고주파 발마사지기를 무료 체험장에 비치한 뒤 당뇨병과 통풍, 관절염, 우울증, 뇌졸중 등에 효능이 있는 것처럼 광고한 혐의로 입건됐다.

 

의료기기법은 신고 없이 의료기기 판매업을 운영하거나 의료기기가 아닌 제품을 의료기기와 유사한 효능·효과가 있는 것처럼 표시·광고할 경우 3년 이하의 징역 또는 3천만 원 이하의 벌금에 처하도록 규정하고 있다.

 

경남도는 이번 단속을 의료정책과와 합동으로 진행했으며, 의료기기를 대상으로 한 첫 기획수사인 만큼 경미한 사항은 현장에서 시정·계도 조치했다고 밝혔다.

 

도는 앞으로도 의료기기 불법 유통과 허위·과장 광고에 대한 단속을 지속해 도민 건강과 소비자 피해 예방에 나설 계획이다.
