[브레이크뉴스=정철규 기자] 한국남동발전은 7일 본격적인 폭염과 장마철을 앞두고 조영혁 사장 직무대행이 삼천포발전본부를 방문해 여름철 안정적인 전력공급을 위한 총력 대응체제 가동에 나섰다고 밝혔다.

 

이번 현장경영은 하절기 전력수요 급증과 폭염·집중호우 등 이상기후에 대비해 발전설비의 안정적 운영 상태를 확인하고 재난안전 관리체계를 점검함으로써 전력피크 기간에도 차질 없는 전력공급 기반을 확보하기 위해 마련됐다.

 

조영혁 사장 직무대행은 하절기 안전관리 현황과 대응 대책을 보고받은 뒤 발전소 중앙제어실과 주요 설비 현장을 차례로 둘러보며 발전설비 운영 상황과 전력피크 대비 태세를 면밀히 점검하고 현장 대응 역량을 살폈다.

 

또 조 사장은 폭염 속에서도 안정적인 전력 생산과 설비 점검에 힘쓰고 있는 현장 근무자들의 노고를 격려하며 안전사고 예방과 기본수칙 준수를 강조하는 등 여름철 재난 대응과 안전관리 강화에 만전을 기해줄 것을 당부했다.

 

이에 앞서 한국남동발전은 지난 3일 진주 본사에서 전 사업소가 참여한 여름철 피크대비 발전설비 안정운영 대책회의를 개최하고 전력수요 증가와 폭염·집중호우 등 이상기후에 대응하기 위한 종합 대책을 논의했다.

 

회의에서 기온 상승에 따른 전력수요 급증 대응 방안과 설비 고장 예방 활동 강화, 비상시 현장 대응 매뉴얼 점검 등 하계 전력피크 기간 안정적인 전력공급을 위한 실질적인 대응 방안이 집중적으로 논의됐다.

 

또 한국남동발전은 정부의 전력수급 대책 기간에 맞춰 24시간 전력수급 상황실을 운영하고 있으며 전력예비율이 낮아지는 상황에도 실시간 모니터링과 신속한 비상 대응체계를 유지하며 안정적 전력공급에 총력을 기울이고 있다.

 

조영혁 사장 직무대행은 “기후위기로 인한 폭염과 집중호우 등 어떠한 기상 상황에서도 국민들이 불편 없이 전력을 사용할 수 있도록 철저한 사전 설비점검과 예방활동이 무엇보다 중요하다”고 말했다.
