"해양신도시의 공공부지(약 13만 평)를 AI 실증센터니 뭐니 하며 무계획적으로 '쪼개기 분양'을 하면 작품이 안 된다. 마산 원도심을 살릴 강력한 모멘텀이 필요하다. 개인적인 아이디어로는 크루즈와 요트가 정박하는 '글로벌 1등급 해양 관광지'를 구상 중이다. 하루 유동인구가 5천에서 1만 명에 달하는 관광 거점을 만들 수 있도록 조속히 대형 청사진 용역을 발주하겠다. 기존 공모 참여자들도 컨소시엄 형태로 흡수해 화합의 장을 만들겠다.
