[브레이크뉴스=이성용 기자] 국립창원대학교는 한국전기연구원(KERI)과 공동 운영하는 산학연 연계 교육 프로그램인 ‘KERI Research CAMP(리서치 캠프) 3기’가 본격적인 운영에 돌입했다고 9일 밝혔다.

 

이날 한국전기연구원 스마트이노베이션센터에서 열린 입소식에는 선발된 학생들과 연구원 등 관계자들이 참석해 향후 교육 일정과 안전 수칙 등을 공유했다.

 

올해로 3회째를 맞이한 ‘KERI 리서치 캠프’는 지역 이공계 대학생들이 정부출연연구기관의 연구 현장을 직접 경험하며 연구개발(R&D) 역량과 실무 능력을 기를 수 있도록 마련된 프로그램이다.

 

이번 3기 캠프에는 국립창원대 스마트그린공학부(화학공학전공), 전자공학과, 반도체물리학과, 전기공학과, 지능로봇융합공학과, 정보통신공학과, 생물학트랙 등 총 7개 전공·트랙에서 선발된 학생 16명이 참여한다.

 

학생들은 6월부터 7월까지 총 4주간 한국전기연구원에 머물며 ▲전공별 실무 및 첨단기술 교육 ▲R&D 장비 활용 실습 ▲연구진 1대 1 멘토링 ▲지역 기업 탐방 등 연구와 산업 현장을 연계한 실무 중심의 교육 과정을 이수하게 된다.

 

특히 이번 3기 과정에서는 참여 학생들의 연구 활동과 성장 과정을 담은 다큐멘터리를 함께 제작해, 프로그램의 성과와 교육 현장의 모습을 생생하게 기록하고 공유할 예정이다.

 

김석주 한국전기연구원 부원장은 입소식에서 “학생들이 연구 현장에서 다양한 경험을 쌓으며 스스로의 진로와 가능성을 발견하는 뜻깊은 시간이 되기를 기대한다”며 “인생에는 정답이 없는 만큼 이번 프로그램이 꿈을 키워가는 의미 있는 한 걸음이 되길 바란다”고 격려했다.

 

박종규 국립창원대 연구산학부총장은 “프로그램 운영을 위해 힘써준 한국전기연구원에 감사드린다”며 “학생들이 항상 주도적으로 배우고, 상상력과 호기심을 바탕으로 미래를 혁신하는 인재로 성장하길 바란다”고 강조했다.
