[브레이크뉴스=정철규 기자] 진주시는 대통령 직속 지방시대위원회가 주관한 ‘2027년 농어촌 취약지역 생활여건 개조사업’ 공모에 문산읍 갈곡지구(송정마을)가 최종 선정됐다고 9일 밝혔다.

 

이번 사업 선정에 따라 갈곡지구에는 오는 2027년부터 2030년까지 총 23억9900만원이 투입될 예정이며 국비 16억5000만원을 비롯해 도비와 시비, 자부담이 함께 투입돼 노후 생활환경 개선과 주민들의 정주여건 향상을 위한 다양한 사업이 본격적으로 추진된다. 

 

농어촌 취약지역 생활여건 개조사업은 주민 주도형 사업으로 빈집 철거와 슬레이트 지붕 교체, 담장 및 안길 정비 등 기반시설을 개선하고 주택 환경 개선과 주민 공동체 활성화, 휴먼케어 등을 함께 추진해 주민 삶의 질을 높이는 정부 공모사업이다.

 

문산읍 갈곡지구는 69가구 103명이 거주하는 농촌마을로 30년 이상 된 노후주택과 슬레이트 지붕이 많아 생활환경 개선의 필요성이 꾸준히 제기돼 왔으며 주민들은 자체 추진위원회를 구성해 여러 차례 설명회, 참여 의지와 추진 역량을 적극적으로 보여 높은 평가를 받았다.

 

이번 공모 선정으로 갈곡지구에서는 노후주택 정비와 배수시설 개선, 안전시설 확충, 주민 역량강화 사업 등이 오는 2027년부터 2030년까지 단계적으로 추진되며 이를 통해 주거환경과 생활 인프라, 공동체 기능이 함께 개선돼 주민들의 삶의 질이 크게 향상될 것으로 기대된다.

 

진주시 관계자는 “문산읍 갈곡지구 추진위원회를 비롯한 주민들의 적극적인 참여와 시의 지속적인 노력으로 4년 만에 다시 정부 공모사업에 선정됐다”며 “앞으로도 사업을 차질 없이 추진해 주민이 행복하고 살기 좋은 농촌마을 조성에 최선을 다하겠다”고 말했다.
