[브레이크뉴스=이성용 기자] 경남도가 산업통상자원부의 '산단전용 5G 특화망 구축사업' 공모에 선정돼 국비 105억 원을 확보했다. 창원국가산업단지는 전국 24개 스마트그린산업단지 가운데 유일하게 선정됐으며, 도는 이를 기반으로 제조현장에 적용할 피지컬AI 통신 인프라 구축에 나선다.

이번 사업에는 총사업비 150억 원이 투입된다. 창원국가산단 전역에 기업 공동 활용이 가능한 5G 특화망을 구축하고, AI 클라우드 서비스와 제조현장 실증을 지원하는 통합관제체계도 함께 마련할 계획이다.

경남도는 지난해 선정된 창원국가산단 AX실증산단 구축사업과 오는 9월 개소 예정인 피지컬AI 원스톱 지원 플랫폼, 경남제조AI데이터센터를 이번 5G 특화망과 연계해 제조AI 기반을 확대한다는 방침이다.

5G 특화망은 제조현장의 로봇과 설비, 센서, 데이터센터를 초고속으로 연결해 대용량 데이터를 실시간으로 주고받을 수 있도록 지원하는 기반시설이다. 이를 통해 기업들은 별도의 대규모 통신망 구축 없이 AI 기반 제조서비스를 활용할 수 있을 것으로 도는 기대하고 있다.

경남도는 이번 사업을 시작으로 창원국가산단과 사천우주항공국가산단을 연결하는 제조 특화 피지컬AI 혁신벨트를 구축하고, 기계·방산·자동차·조선·우주항공 등 지역 주력산업으로 AI 활용을 확대할 계획이다.
