[브레이크뉴스=황민성 기자] 밀양시가 연극문화 기반시설 조성 사업에 착수하며 '연극의 도시' 경쟁력 강화에 나선다.

시는 문화체육관광부의 연극교육체험관 조성 지원사업으로 추진하는 '밀양연극교육체험관'과 '청년연극인쉼터' 건립을 위한 행정절차를 마무리하고 이달 공사에 들어간다고 밝혔다.

부북면 밀양아리나 내에 조성되는 연극교육체험관은 총사업비 190억원을 투입해 지하 1층, 지상 4층, 연면적 2,970㎡ 규모로 건립된다. 블랙박스형 공연장과 연극체험실, 전시실, 전문교육실 등을 갖춰 시민과 관광객이 공연 관람과 체험, 교육을 함께 즐길 수 있는 복합문화공간으로 운영될 예정이다.

인근에 들어서는 청년연극인쉼터는 사업비 78억원을 들여 지상 3층, 연면적 1,184㎡ 규모로 조성된다. 객실과 커뮤니티 공간, 휴게실 등을 갖춘 체류형 시설로 전국 청년 연극인의 창작과 교류 활동을 지원하는 거점 역할을 맡게 된다.
