[브레이크뉴스=정철규 기자] 진주시는 폭염으로 일부 축종에서 폐사 피해가 발생해 축산농가를 대상으로 긴급 급수와 살수 지원 등 현장 대응을 강화하고 있다고 5일 밝혔다.

시는 산불진화차량과 방제차량 등을 활용해 축사 지붕과 주변에 물을 뿌려 가축의 고온 스트레스를 줄이고 폐사와 생산성 저하를 예방하는 데 행정력을 집중하고 있다.

또 시는 긴급 급수가 필요한 농가의 경우 진주소방서와 협력해 소방차를 투입하는 등 관계기관과의 협업체계를 구축해 폭염 피해 최소화에 나서고 있다.

아울러 시는 공수의사를 통한 하절기 가축 무료 순회진료를 실시하고 가축재해보험 등 6개 사업에 6억7000만원을 지원해 자연재해와 질병으로 인한 농가 피해를 줄일 계획이다.

특히 시는 축산농가의 폭염에 대비해 충분한 급수와 환기 등 기본적인 사양관리 수칙을 철저히 이행하도록 안내하고 현장 중심의 지원을 지속적으로 확대 할 방침이다.

진주시 관계자는 “폭염이 장기화되고 있어 축산농가도 급수와 환기 등 관리요령을 적극 실천해 주시길 바란다”며 “가축 피해를 최소화하기 위한 행정적 지원을 추진하겠다"고 말했다.
