[브레이크뉴스=이성용 기자] 경남도는 도립노인병원의 리모델링 착수에 이어 도내 노후된 어린이집을 비롯 보건소, 의료시설 등 공공건축물 111곳에 대해 친환경적인 리모델링을 추진한다고 밝혔다.

 

도는 국토부 공공건축물 그린리모델링 공모사업을 통해 추진 중인 김해시와 양산시에 위치한 도립노인병원의 그린리모델링 사업 설계가 완료돼 지난달 공사에 착수했다. 

 

그린리모델링은 노후화로 인해 에너지효율이 저하된 기존 건축물의 외벽 및 외단열 보강, 고성능 기밀 창호 교체, 고효율 보일러 및 폐열회수형 환기장치 설치 공사 등을 통해 에너지효율을 높이고, 온실가스 배출을 낮춰 노후 건축물의 가치를 높임과 동시에 쾌적하고 건강한 거주환경을 조성하는 친환경적인 리모델링이다. 

 

경남도는 57억 원을 투입하는 그린리모델링을 통해 도립노인병원의 에너지성능을 개선, 더 나은 의료서비스를 제공할 계획이다.

한편, 도는 어린이, 노약자 등 취약계층이 이용하는 노후 공공건축물을 대상으로 2020년부터 2021년까지 국공립어린이집 60개소, 보건소 등 의료시설 51개소 총 111곳의 그린리모델링 사업을 추진해 68개소를 완료했다.

 

43개소는 빈틈없이 사업을 추진하여 올해 하반기까지 모두 마무리할 예정이다.

 

올해도 국토부 공모사업에 30여 개 사업을 신청하여 도민들이 보다 쾌적하고 안전한 공공공간을 누릴 수 있도록 그린리모델링을 지속적으로 추진할 방침이다. 

 

2020년 정부에서 시행한 공공건축물 그린리모델링 사업은 단위면적당 평균 27.9%의 에너지소요량을 절감하는 효과를 거둔 것으로 분석돼 이를 온실가스 감축량으로 환산하면 5,296tonCO2eq(톤)의 배출량을 절감한 것으로 나타났다. 

 

이는 강원지역 30년산 소나무 65만 그루 식재한 효과와 동일해 그린리모델링의 온실가스 감축 효과는 이미 검증된 셈이다.

 

특히 전체 에너지소비량의 25%를 건축물에서 소비하고 있는 경상남도의 경우 건축물 에너지 소비를 줄이기 위해서는 그린리모델링이 꼭 필요한 핵심수단이라 할 수 있다.

 

허동식 도시교통국장은 “우리도는 녹색건축 활성화를 위해 다양한 정책 및 노력을 전개하고 있으며 특히, 노후건축물의 에너지 절감, 에너지성능 향상이 무엇보다 중요하기 때문에 공공건축물 그린리모델링 사업을 적극 추진함은 물론 향후 민간으로 점차 확대될 수 있도록 그린리모델링의 저변 확대를 위해 힘쓸 것”이라고 밝혔다.
