[브레이크뉴스=이성용 기자] 경상남도는 1일 지역의 현안을 설명하고 해결방안을 모색하고자 ‘국토교통부-경상남도 지역협의회’를 개최했다.

회의에 앞서 경남도는 국토교통부 관계자들과 함께 창원 개발제한구역 일대를 방문했다. 경남도는 이 자리에서 개발제한구역 해제의 필요성을 강조하고, 해제 이후 부지 활용방안을 설명했다.

박완수 경상남도지사는 도청 접견실에서 문성요 국토부 국토도시실장과 면담을 통해 “경남의 투자유치와 기업입지 확보에 걸림돌이 되는 개발제한구역 해제가 필요하다. 또, 고용창출 효과가 높은 관광산업을 성장 동력화할 수 있도록 토지이용 규제 해소, 교통 인프라 구축 등에 국토부에서 적극적인 관심을 가져달라”고 말했다.

이어 도청 중앙회의실에서 지역협의회 간담회를 통해 지역 현안에 대한 논의를 이어갔다. 경남도가 건의한 주요사업은 ▲ 가덕도 신공항 기본계획 반영 ▲ 가덕도 신공항법 개정 ▲ 경전선 수서행 고속열차 신설 ▲ 함안 칠원~대구 현풍 고속도로 확장 ▲ 사천 IC~하동 IC 고속도로 확장 ▲ 국가도로망 기점(고성~의령~합천) 연장 ▲ 남해안 아일랜드 하이웨이 구축 ▲ 상북~웅상 국도 승격 및 개설 ▲ 민자도로 정부 주도 통행료 인하 ▲ 개발제한 구역 해제 등이다.

경남도는 이날 논의된 주요현안 사업에 대해 국토부와 해결방안을 찾아 나가고, 개발사업의 중심에서 거점과 교통망을 연결하는 지역균형발전 정책을 추진하는기회가 될 수 있도록 노력을 이어가기로 했다.

문성요 국토부 국토도시실장은 “경남 발전에 필요한 현안을 함께 논의하게 되어 뜻깊다”며 “개발제한구역 해제, 주요 교통망 구축을 비롯한 건의사항에 대해 경남도와 지속 논의해 경남이 한층 도약할 수 있도록 적극 지원하겠다”고 밝혔다.
