[브레이크뉴스=이성용 기자] 경남 마이스산업의 중심인 창원컨벤션센터가 디지털 마이스 공간으로 거듭난다.
창원컨벤션센터는 작년 12월 말 대형 회의실 2곳(301호, 600A호)에 400인치 고해상도 LED스크린, 화면분할 ․ 전환장비, 원격제어시스템을 갖추고, 경남 마이스산업의 중심인 창원컨벤션센터가 디지털 마이스 공간으로 거듭난다.
지난해 4월 문화체육관광부 공모사업에 선정돼, 시행한 이 사업은 창원시와 경남도가 창원컨벤션센터와 함께 마이스산업의 디지털화에 대응하고자 지난 1년 동안 유기적으로 협력하여 이루어 낸 성과이다.
작년에 창원컨벤션센터에서 개최된 행사 중 주최자가 LED스크린을 반입하여 직접 설치․철거한 사례가 30건에 육박했으며, 주최자들을 대상으로 한 수요조사에서 선호도가 가장 높은 행사 시설은 LED스크린(37%)인 것으로 나타났다.
행사 주최자들은 LED스크린 설치․철거에 소요되는 비용과 시간을 아끼고 이를 통해 보다 고품질의 행사를 개최할 수 있게 됐다. 또한, LED스크린의 에너지 절감효과와 LED 배너의 폐기물 감축, 설치․철거 공사 시 유발될 수 있는 각종 안전사고 예방 효과 등을 통해 ESG 실천에 한발 다가서게 됐다.
더불어 새롭게 도입한 원격제어시스템은 내부 장비가 아닌 행사 주최자들의 태블릿이나 PC로도 이용이 가능하여 사용자 편의를 더했고, 시중가보다 저렴하게 제공하여 지역 마이스 업계의 경쟁력 확보에도 기여할 것으로 예상된다.
나재용 경제일자리국장은 “창원컨벤션센터가 고화질 화상스크린을 필요로 하는 의료, 바이오 관련 학술행사 등 디지털 첨단산업과 연계된 컨벤션 유치경쟁력을 갖추게 되어 지역 마이스산업에 새로운 성장 동력을 불어 넣을 것으로 기대한다”고 전했다.
