[브레이크뉴스=이성용 기자] 홍남표 창원특례시장은 1일 행정안전부 주관 ‘재난관리평가 기관장 인터뷰’를 가졌다.

이번 평가는 ‘재난 및 안전관리 기본법’에 따라 전국 338개 재난관리책임기관을 대상으로 외부 전문가들로 구성된 평가단이 전년도 실적을 단계별로 점검하며, 개인·부서·네트워크·기관 역량 등 총 6개 분야 36개 지표를 종합적으로 평가한 뒤 우수기관을 선정한다.

인터뷰 주요 내용은 ▲재난안전관리를 위한 특별한 비전과 추진계획 ▲위해요소 극복을 위한 정책 ▲재난안전부서 역량 제고를 위한 인사·조직 강화·인센티브 계획 ▲재난안전분야 예산 적정여부 ▲교육·홍보·행사 등에 대한 지원 추진계획 ▲창원시 재난안전관리를 위한 특수시책 등 총 9건이다.

창원시는 바다를 끼고 있어 매년 태풍 등의 자연재해가 많다. 하지만 지난해 역대급 태풍으로 분류된 태풍 힌남노에 전 공무원이 하나로 똘똘뭉쳐 태풍 피해를 최소화해 언론 등으로부터 좋은 평가를 받았다.

하지만 자연재해가 늘 예측을 피해갔던 것처럼 방심할 수 없기에 긴장하지 않을 수 없다는 것이 관련 공무원들이 힘들어하는 부분이다.

홍남표 창원특례시장은 “안전한 창원시를 만들기 위해 재난 및 안전관리 체계를 구축하고 각종 재난으로부터 시민의 생명과 재산 보호를 최우선으로 시정을 펼치는 데 역점을 두고 있다”며 “재난관리 역량강화를 위한 선제적 대비 태세를 확립해 신속한 대응체계를 구축할 수 있도록 최선을 다하겠다”고 말했다.

이어 “작년 힌남노 태풍 피해를 최소화 할 수 있었던 것은 시민들과 공무원들이 하나로 똘똘뭉쳤기 때문이다”며 그때의 기억을 잊지 않는 것이 무엇보다 중요하다“고 밝혔다.
