[브레이크뉴스=이성용 기자] 창원특례시는 11일부터 12일까지 창원축구센터 다목적체육관에서 ‘제12회 창원시협회장배 경남오픈 탁구대회’가 열렸다고 밝혔다.

11일 개회식에는 홍남표 창원특례시장, 박성호 창원시체육회장, 김영선·윤한홍·최형두 국회의원과 창원시체육회 및 탁구협회 관계자들이 참석해 선수들의 선전을 기원했다. 

이번 대회는 창원시탁구협회(회장 서진식)가 주최·주관하고, 창원특례시가 후원하는, 경남오픈 대회로서 1300여명의 18개 시·군 탁구선수 및 동호인들이 남녀 개인전 및 단체전으로 나눠 열띤 경기를 펼쳤다.

지난 2년간 코로나19로 인해 규모가 축소돼 열렸으나, 올해는 경남 1,300여명의 탁구인들이 참여하여 경기장은 시종일관 팽팽한 긴장감과 환호로 가득 채워졌다.

홍남표 창원특례시장은 환영사를 통해 “이 자리를 가득 채워주신 경남의 탁구동호인 여러분께 감사드리며, 평소 갈고닦은 기량을 마음껏 펼치시길 바란다”며 “생활체육 활성화를 위해 탁구를 비롯한 다양한 체육대회 개최와 프로그램 보급에 최선을 다하겠다”고 밝혔다.
