[브레이크뉴스=이성용 기자] 창원특례시는 마산회원구 회성동 396번지 일원에 추진 중인 창원 자족형복합행정타운 도시개발사업의 본격적인 부지조성 공사가 4월에 실시된다고 밝혔다.

창원 자족형복합행정타운은 71만 5,596㎡ 부지에 2026년까지 6,269억 원의 사업비를 투입하여 행정과 주거의 기능을 합친 복합행정타운의 부지를 조성하는 사업이다.

부지조성이 완료되면 마산회원구청, 창원지방법원 마산지원 및 창원지방검찰청 마산지청을 비롯한 공공기관 13개와 공동주택 5,930세대(분양 3,650, 임대 2,280), 공원 8개소 등이 들어설 예정이다.

현재 사업구역 경계 휀스 설치 공사 및 구역 외 상수도 공사가 진행중이고, 보상률은 사유지 기준으로 92%이며, 4월에 보상절차를 마무리할 예정이다. 

보상절차가 마무리되면 본격적인 부지조성 공사를 실시하여 2025년 9월에 부지조성 공사 준공, 2026년 하반기에는 부지 매각을 완료하고 법인을 청산하여 사업을 완료하게 된다. 사업이 완료되면 그동안 상대적으로 낙후되었던 회성동 일대에 큰 변화가 일어날 것으로 기대된다.

최재안 도시개발사업소장은 “2009년 본 사업을 위한 개발제한구역 해제 이후 사업이 정상 궤도에 오르기까지 우여곡절이 많았지만, 지역주민들의 적극적인 협조로 본격적인 공사 시작을 앞두고 있다.”며, “앞으로 진행될 공사로 인한 인근 주민들의 불편을 최소화하는 동시에 조속히 공사를 마무리하여 지역주민들의 기대에 부응하는 복합행정타운을 조성할 수 있도록 최선을 다하겠다.”고 밝혔다.
