[브레이크뉴스=이성용 기자] 김해시는 ‘생물다양성의 날’ 기념행사를 많은 시민과 학생들의 관심 속에서 성황리에 마무리됐다고 23일 밝혔다.

이번 행사는 22일 세계 생물다양성의 날을 기념해 지난 20일부터 21일까지 양일간 화포천습지생태공원 일원에서 개최돼 1,200여명의 시민과 어린이, 학생들이 다양한 체험프로그램과 환경정화활동에 참여했다. 

탐사체험은 ▲습지탐사 ▲제비마을 탐사에 310여명의 시민과 학생들이 참여한 가운데 화포천습지에 서식하는 다양한 생물에 대한 설명을 듣고 제비마을을 탐사하면서 제비의 종류와 특징을 알아가며 생물다양성의 의미를 이해하는 시간을 제공했다. 

생태체험은 ▲화포천습지 생물다양성 그리기 및 전시 ▲전사티셔츠․머그컵만들기 ▲핀버튼 만들기 ▲날개짓하는 제비 만들기에 710여명이 참여했다. 화포천습지에 서식하는 생물을 그리고 만들어 보는 이 프로그램은 방문객들의 참여율이 가장 높았다.

먹거리체험은 ▲산딸기청 만들기 ▲드립커피 내리기에 130여명이 참여해 새콤달콤한 산딸기청을 만들고 드립커피를 내리면서 마음의 여유를 가지는 시간을 제공했다.

김해시는 화포천습지에 서식하는 다양한 생물을 소개하고 지속적인 관심 유도를 위해 올 상반기 동안 화포천습지생태박물관 특별전시관에서 화포천습지 생물 사진을 전시한다. 

아울러 화포천습지에 서식하는 토종생물의 활동 증대와 서식지 보전을 위해 환경단체, 기간제 근로자 등 50여명이 참여해 환경정화활동을 진행해 5t이 넘는 쓰레기를 수거했고 환삼덩굴, 가시박 등 생태계교란식물(250Kg)도 퇴치했다. 화포천습지 수질 정화를 위해 EM 흙공 300여개를 투척하는 행사도 마련됐다. 

김해시 관계자는 “많은 시민과 학생들의 관심 속에 생물다양성의 날 행사를 성공적으로 마칠 수 있었다”면서 “생물다양성이 풍부한 화포천습지를 잘 보전하기 위해 생물다양성의 중요성 인식을 위한 보다 다양한 체험프로그램을 개발하겠다”고 말했다.
