[브레이크뉴스=양영석 기자] 의령 토요애유통이 올해 초당옥수수 성공 기원제와 함께 초당옥수수 출하를 시작했다.

지난 26일 의령군 동부농협 낙서면 정곡집하장에서 초당옥수수 성공 기원제가 열렸다.

낙동강을 끼고 있는 비옥한 토지와 맑은 수질을 바탕으로 초당옥수수 115ha를 재배하고 있으며 특히 낙서면은 재배면적이 84ha로 단일 재배면적 전국 최대규모 주산지이다.

토요애유통은 올해부터 초당옥수수 계약재배를 실시해 전량을 매입하고 ㈜그린랩스와 대형 유통업체 출하를 통해 농가가 안정적인 소득을 올릴 수 있도록 노력하고 있다.

이번 출하는 초당옥수수 재배농가 17곳 농가가 참여해 424동 규모 약 11억원 정도를 매취하는 것을 시작으로 추후 사업량을 확대해 나갈 예정이다.

토요애유통 오재덕 대표는 “초당옥수수 재배농가에서 희망하는 안정적인 출하처 확보를 위해 최선을 다하고 있으며 농민이 생산한 농산물을 좋은 가격과 좋은 조건으로 전량 출하 할 수 있도록 하겠다”고 밝혔다.
