[브레이크뉴스=이성용 기자] (재)창원산업진흥원(원장 장동화)은 21일 창원 방위산업 수출 활성화를 위해 태국 방산기업 PANUS社(MR.PANUS 회장)과 상호협력 업무협약을 체결했다.

창원산업진흥원, 창원지역 기업체 등 총 12명으로 구성된 태국 현지 사절단은 지난 19일부터 23일까지 3박 5일간의 일정으로 방산 관련 기업 수출상담회, 우수기업 및 기관 방문, 방산 수출 관련 PANUS社와 업무협약 등을 목적으로 태국을 방문해 기술교류 활동을 펼치고 있다. 이 과정에서 창원산업진흥원과 PANUS社 간 방위산업 수출 활성화 MOU를 체결하는 성과를 올렸다.

이번 협약은 창원 관내 방산 관련 중소기업과 태국 현지 기업 간 수출 활성화 등에 대한 상호협력을 약속하기 위해 마련됐다. 주요 협약 내용은 ▲방산기업 및 기관 등 글로벌 네트워크 교류 활성화▲창원-태국 현지 방산 시장정보 공유▲국제협력 방안 모색 등을 포함한다.

태국 방산기업 PANUS社는 1969년 설립이래로 연간매출액 약 3,150억원, 종업원 약 800명 이상의 기업이며, 해병대용 상륙장갑차(R600), 트레일러 제작 등 태국특수차량분야 1위 기업이다.

한편, 창원 방위산업 사절단은 남은 기간 태국 방산 관련 기업 및 바이어와 수출상담회 등을 추진하며 지속적인 교류협력을 추진할 계획이다.
