브레이크뉴스=이성용 기자] 이재두 경남도의원이 경남장애인인권포럼에서 주최하는 ‘2023 경남장애인정책 우수의원’에 선정됐다.

이 의원은 7일 오후 경남도의회 대회의실에서 열린 2023 경남장애인정책 결과 발표 및 우수의원 시상식에서 지방의회 장애감수성 발언 부문 우수의원상을 수상했다.

경남장애인인권포럼은 경상남도의회와 도내 18개 시·군의회를 대상으로 장애인정책에 관한 의정활동을 모니터링하여 장애인정책 발전과 장애인인권 증진에 기여한 의원을 선정해 시상하고 있다.

시상 내용으로 이재두 의원은 2022년 10월부터 2023년 10월까지 5분자유발언·도정질문·조례개정 등을 통해 장애인을 포함한 교통약자의 이동권 확보를 위한 다양한 발언과 활발한 의정활동을 펼쳤다.

법령 개정에 따라 광역이동지원센터(기존 콜센터)의 명칭 변경 및 설치 의무화 등 전반적인 사항을 정비하고, 경상남도가 교통약자 이동편의시설을 설치기준에 맞게 설치·유지하기 위해 기준적합성 여부를 점검해야 한다는 조항을 신설하여 ‘경상남도 교통약자의 이동편의 증진에 관한 조례’를 개정했다.

2023년 9월에는 도정질문을 통해 경상남도를 상대로 교통약자 이동편의시설의 정확한 설치와 유지·관리를 위하여 도와 시·군이 합동점검 시범사업을 추진해보자고 제안하는 등 장애인의 이동권 확보를 위해 노력한 공로를 높이 평가 받았다.
