[브레이크뉴스=이성용 기자] 경남경찰청은 13일부터 이달 말까지 3주간 도심권에서 이륜차와 전동킥보드를 대상으로 법규위반행위에 대해 집중단속을 실시한다고 밝혔다.

올해 10월 말 기준 전체 교통사고 사망자 188명 중 이륜차 교통사고 사망자는 49명으로 전체 26%를 차지하고, 전동킥보드 관련 교통사고 사망자도 1명 발생했다.

특히 이륜차 사망사고 49명 중 29명(59%)이 도심권에서 발생하였고, 전동킥보드 사고는 7월 11일 오전 7시경 양산 북정동에서 발생했다. 이에 경남도경에서도 기동단속팀(암행순찰차 2대, 싸이카 10대)을 구성해, 창원중부서 등 13개 경찰서 교통외근과 합동단속을 실시한다.

경남경찰청은 “이번 주 수능시험 후 이륜차와 전동킥보드의 법규위반 행위가 증가할 것으로 예상하고, 이륜차와 전동킥보드의 경우 신체가 외부로 노출되어 가벼운 접촉 사고라도 크게 다칠 수 있으므로 반드시 법규를 준수해서 운행해야 한다”고 당부했다.
