▲ 의령군 자굴산 도깨비 황금동굴 조성사업 추진

군은 지역 설화인 도깨비 '쇠목이'를 콘텐츠로 한 '도깨비 황금 동굴'을 건립한다고 16일 밝혔다.

 

의령군은 사업비 300억원을 투자해 8년 동안 공들여 조성한 '자굴산 자연휴양림' 내 관광자원 개발을 위해 이색적인 테마여행 명소인 '도깨비 황금 동굴'을 조성한다.

 

이 사업은 경남 지역균형발전사업 공모에 선정되어 사업비 30억원이 투입된다.

 

'도깨비 황금 동굴'의 탄생은 '자굴산 자연휴양림'의 인기에 힘입었다.

 

자굴산 자연휴양림은 경남의 중심에 위치한 지리적 이점과 체류형 휴양 관광을 선호하는 사람들의 증가로 지난해 4월 개장했다.

 

2022년 26,764명, 올해는 10월 기준으로 이미 작년 이용객 수를 뛰어넘은 28,883명이 찾은 인기 관광지다.

 

특히 숲속의 집으로 불리는 펜션이 15동, 카라반 8개, 캠핑장 17면으로 관광객들의 취향에 따라 선택할 수 있는 다양한 숙박시설을 갖춰 주말에는 '예약 전쟁'을 벌이기 일쑤다.

 

의령군은 건강한 휴식과 활력을 충전할 수 있는 자굴산자연휴양림에 꿈과 환상의 특별한 스토리가 있는 '도깨비 황금 동굴'을 건립해 특색있는 관광 콘텐츠로 더 많은 관광객을 유치하겠다는 구상이다.

 

콘텐츠 중심에는 '도깨비'가 있다.

 

의령군에는 한우도령과 응봉낭자의 슬픈 사랑과 도깨비 쇠목이의 질투가 서린 설화가 전해진다.

 

쇠목이와 그의 친구인 홍의·바우·느루 등 각각의 특색있는 도깨비 캐릭터들은 570㎡의 인공동굴에 자리 잡은 9개의 테마·전시공간을 하나씩 책임진다.

 

특별한 스토리에 빛과 소리로 채운 꿈과 환상의 도깨비 황금동굴 속 판타지체험관은 어린이에게는 상상 속 황홀감을 선물하고 성인들에겐 전래동화의 추억을 선사한다.

 

특히 동굴이라는 공간이 주는 특이한 인상과 그 안에서 펼쳐지는 기묘한 탐험으로 남녀노소 모두에게 특별한 경험을 선보인다.

 

관람객들은 아롱다롱 도깨비불을 따라 입구에 들어서면 거대한 도깨비 공기 조형물을 만나게 된다.

 

이후 도깨비 장단에 맞춰 요술북을 두드리며 반딧불이의 안내를 받아 도깨비 나라로 체험이 시작된다.

 

무지개 그림자 체험, 빛의 징검다리 건너기, 황금 터널 보물찾기, 도깨비방망이로 소원 이루기 등 신비롭고 다채로운 체험들이 이어진다.

 

한편 의령군은 이번 '도깨비 황금 동굴'을 지난 9월 의령읍에 개원한 미래교육원 체험 프로그램으로 연계시킬 방안을 마련 중이다.

 

하루 평균 1,000명의 학생이 방문하는 미래교육원 효과를 '도깨비 황금 동굴'의 체험 프로그램에 접목해 국내 대다수 관광시설 운영상 문제점인 '평일 이용객 부족'을 해소하겠다는 복안이다.

 

의령군은 2025년 예정인 황금동굴 개장에 앞서 대표 캐릭터 '자굴산 도깨비 친구들'을 개발·상표 출원 및 굿즈 제작을 완료하는 등 일찌감치 '도깨비 황금 동굴' 홍보전에 나서고 있다.
