[브레이크뉴스=이성용 기자] 홍태용 김해시장은 17일 김해분성고(교장:강경수)를 방문해 항공우주공학동아리 학생들을 만나 격려했다. 지난 8월, 분성고 과학동아리 학생들은 카메라가 부착된 풍선을 우주로 날려 지구를 촬영하는 데 성공해 화제를 모았다.

분성고 과학동아리 '에어 크래프트' 학생 11명은 양산시 상북면 공터에서 헬륨가스가 담긴 1200g크기의 풍선을 날려 경남 거제시와 남해군 그리고 일본   나가사키현 대마도(쓰시마 섬)를 뚜렷하게 촬영하고 ‘우주로 보낸 카메라가 찍은 아름다운 영상'이라는 제목으로 분성고 사이버 과학관 유튜브에 게재했다.

이번 방문에서 홍태용 시장은 동아리 수업을 참관하며 학생들의 과학 동아리 활동에 대한 소감 및 활동의 어려운 점을 듣는 소통과 공감의 시간을 가졌다. 또한, 2022년 우주 풍선 프로젝트 실패에도 굴하지 않고 올해 프로젝트를 성공적으로 이끈 학생들의 노력과 열정에 격려와 응원을 보냈다.
