[브레이크뉴스=이성용 기자] 창원시설공단은 지난달 31일 제29회 바다의 날을 맞아 진해해양공원 일원에서 유관기관 및 기업체, 자원봉사자 등이 함께 환경정화활동을 펼쳤다.

이번 정화활동에는 창원특례시와 경남교육청, 진해경찰서, 진해기지사령부, 해군정비창, 경남개발공사, 창원보호관찰소, GE Vernova(주), 경남자동차판매(주) 등 유관기관과 기업체를 비롯해 자원봉사자 등 160여 명이 참여했다.

참여자들은 이날 해안에 유입된 스티로폼과 플라스틱병, 비닐, 합성수지 등 바다환경을 파괴하는 각종 쓰레기와 폐기물을 다량 수거하고, 후손들에게 깨끗한 바다를 물려줄 수 있기를 바란다고 했다.

김종해 시설공단 이사장은 “이번 바다의 날 행사를 통해 해양쓰레기의 심각성을 알리고 바다의 소중함을 다시 일깨울 수 있는 계기가 되기를 바란다”고 말했다.
